HHV Co-Hosts the 2008 Veterans Day National Committee Reception

November 17, 2008

Along with the Military Chaplain's Association, HHV co-hosted this event

HHV, this Veterans Day, in addition to its sponsorship of the many worthy programs and services was pleased to further pay tribute to America's veterans by co-hosting this year's Veterans Day National Committee Reception alongside the Military Chaplains Association (MCA).

Founded in 1925 and chartered by Congress in 1950, the MCA is committed to the religious freedom and spiritual welfare of America's military, veterans, and their families.  The MCA is made up of past and present members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol and Department of Veterans Affairs chaplaincies.  Its members and associate members represent a wide array of faiths.

In the words of VA Secretary Dr. James B. Peake on Veterans Day 2008, "it is our responsibility to honor them for their sacrifices, not just on Veterans Day, but every day of the year."  It is that sentiment that drives HHV to continually seek additional ways to help veterans receiving care from a VA facility, military hospital or state veterans nursing home.
